This oil pan, adapter, and pickup is standard in all of our K24Z3 swap packages. It's TIG welded inside and out and pressure tested for leaks. After welding, the flange is machined again for a precise fit.
The purpose of this pan, pickup, and adapter is to provide adequate clearance for the factory Miata subframe and steering rack.
Our oiling system works in conjunction with an OEM K20 oil pump setup (sold separately). A custom 6 quart road race oil pan is supplied that includes baffles, two trap doors, two drain plugs, and an oil overflow plug.
For inside the pan, customers are supplied with an K20 oil pump adapter and new pickup tube. These pieces replace half of the factory oil pump, and allow the pickup to be routed over the steering rack and subframe. The pump adapter is CNC machined from 6061 aluminum and is anodize hard coated to resist wear inside the pump.
Our extensive testing has shown consistent oil pressure through sustained right and left hand corners on a number of race tracks.
Note: This oiling system also fits older K24 engines like the K24A2, so this pan and these engine mounts could be used to install a custom K24A2 turbo setup within the confines of the stock subframe.
