Note that if you choose to have KPower supply your ECU, you may experience an extended lead time to due to a shortage in used ECUs. For quickest turnaround, please source your own ECU.
Per Hondata, please allow 4-6 weeks for KPro board installation!
If you are unfamiliar with Hondata, please read this information carefully, it will answer almost all frequently asked questions for new users.
Unlike some ECU options, Kpro is installed directly into an OEM ECU. In order to function with our swap package and wiring harness, you’ll need an ECU from one of the following vehicles, regardless of which K series engine you are using:
2002-2004 Acura RSX base model or Type S (manual or auto)
2002-2005 Honda Civic Si
2002-2004 Honda CR-V (manual or auto, 2WD or 4WD)
Note that the more expensive RSX Type S (6 speed) ECU is not needed for our swaps, since a K series transmission is not used. If you select the option to have your Kpro pre-installed in an ECU, you will receive one of the ECUs from the list above.
As soon as Kpro is installed, we recommend immediately taking the vehicle to a qualified K series tuner for a full dyno tune. If you need a recommendation for a basemap to start the car, please email us at info@kpower.industries.
This ECU option is often paired with our KPower RWD Engine Wiring Harness and Conversion Harness as they are tailored for our KPower RWD Intake Manifold and KPower Throttle Body. These four products are extremely common for customers building unique custom K swap applications.
Updated Shipping Instructions:
For all customer-supplied ECUs:
1) Please fill out THIS FORM and ship your ECU directly to Hondata (address on the form). Select 2002-2004 RSX-S ECU regardless of the type of approved ECU you're using. Please enter KPower Industries under Dealer Name. You are responsible for paying to ship your ECU.
2) You will receive a PO from KPower to include in the box. Please wait to ship your ECU until you have the PO to print and include.
For all KPower-supplied ECUs:
KPower will handle shipping of your ECU to Hondata and it will ship directly to your address once it's ready.

Application Notes
-
Base maps are included only for K20A2, K20A3 (RSX Base), K20A3 (Civic SI) and K20A engines.

The 2002- CRV ECU (5 speed) (PPA -A0# ECU) can be used.
-
Support for the manual K20A3 engine and the secondary intake runner as used in the base model RSX and CRV.

The Japanese PRD and PRC ECU do not support a fuel tank pressure sensor.
-
PNF, PPA and PND ECUs for 5 speed transmissions will not operate the reverse lock solenoid on 6 speed transmissions.

The K-Pro ECU will not work on Automatic vehicles. Automatic ECUs cannot be converted to manual.

To use the K-Pro on a 2005-2006 RSX, an adapter harness is required, an 02-04 specially modified ECU must be modified for used and the primary oxygen sensor from an 03-04 must be used.
General Notes
-
From previous ECU's Honda has changed from 2 dimensional tables (engine speed and engine load) to 3 dimensional tables (engine speed, engine load and cam angle). The K-Pro ECU retains these 3 dimensional tables to ensure the engine is running at optimum efficiency and power for every cam angle.

The stock JDM and US O2 sensor is wide band and can read from 11.5:1 to 30:1 A/F ratios.

Most OBDII features may be disabled for race vehicles.

Error codes and the OBDII readiness status may be datalogged.

Base tables are supplied for the RSX Type S, RSX Base, Civic SI and Integra Type R engines. These tables have been dyno tuned.

No external programmer or other equipment is necessary. Just plug the ECU into a laptop via a USB cable.

Tables may be map-traced in real time.
-
Main tables are real-time updateable, changes to other tables and settings can be uploaded typically in less than a second.
